Dr. Robert Thonney was raised in Prosser, Washington on a small cattle ranch, and he knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in large animal veterinary medicine. After completing veterinary school at Washington State University, Dr. Rob spent 6 years in Lewiston, Idaho practicing beef cow-calf and equine medicine. He then moved to Hermiston, Oregon where he worked in a mixed animal practice for three years, learning many new things along the way. He was blessed to meet his amazing wife, Hannah, during his time in Oregon. Together they make the move back to Prosser to open Ranch Hand Veterinary Services, an ambulatory large animal/livestock practice focused on preventative medicine, bovine herd health, equine dentistry and basic veterinary care and many other services for farm animal enthusiasts of the Inland Pacific Northwest.
During the little free time available to a couple in veterinary medicine, Dr. Rob & Hannah Thonney enjoy spending time with family & friends, traveling, upland bird hunting, camping, listening to live music and eating good food.
